Book Club Gathering #6

Before this next book, Life of Pi, by Yann Martel was selected by our book club, I was very vocal about not enjoying it and shared about how much I disliked it. However, many people in our book club wanted to try it. I want to be a reader who is open to all kinds of books, and especially since there would be discussions to follow, I was really looking forward to this gathering. I was truly hoping that some insight would be shared that would cause me to think differently of the book.
We met at Jill's home and had "pies-" chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie, peach pie, and chocolate pie! Yum!

It was a small group, but we had fun- we were clearly split- some of us loved the book, some of us thought it was ok, and some of us didn't enjoy it. This always makes for an interesting discussion. We talked a lot about symbolism and metaphors, about religion and faith... It was insightful and people gave perspectives that I hadn't considered before. Even though I still don't like the book, I really enjoyed the discussion of it. I LOVE my book club!
